Healing Waters Productions is a collective of African heritage women sharing and theorizing about the very specific position of being socialized as black and female in the Southern United States. We are a production and experience company offering arts based education and training for substantial social change. We provide opportunities for women and femmes to notice, name, and voice their authentic experiences as historical record and first hand observation. Our lens is queer, Black femme and Southern.
Mission
The mission of Healing Waters Productions is to merge public health practice and liberation praxis with the creative arts for the purpose of celebrating and liberating the voices, bodies and spirits of Black women and girls.
Vision
A world where Black women and girls are wholly seen, deeply honored, and radically free — where their stories are sacred, their bodies are sovereign, and their voices shape the cultural and historical record. Healing Waters Productions envisions communities transformed through the power of art, truth-telling, and collective healing, where the full complexity of Black, queer, and Southern femme experience is not only affirmed but celebrated as essential to the liberation of us all.
